Mission

The Mission of the Forensic Nursing Certification Board (FNCB) is to provide professional certifications in Forensic Nursing Science that promote quality care to patients intersecting with the legal system.

Values

The Vision of the Forensic Nursing Certification Board (FNCB) –is to improve the quality of care, and thus safety and satisfaction, in patients who intersect with the legal system, through certification of forensic nurses.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The FNCB supports equal and diverse representation from all forensic nursing academic educator communities. The FNCB cast a wide net to forensic nursing educators across the globe in an effort to represent a diverse community of forensic nurses in academic settings at all six Delphi meetings. Recognizing that diverse thought from a variety of cultures is important, the FNCB continues to reach out to diverse forensic nursing educators globally. The current membership represents the four corners of the United States (US), with possibilities for expansion globally. Overall, the 11 educator members are subject matter experts in forensic nursing and forensic nursing education. They represent US and foreign born and educated, elder, young, cisgender male and female from diverse ethnicities and religious affiliations, and varied practice backgrounds, with diverse educational degrees from academic institutions. The common thread among board members is a passion for care of all populations vulnerable to violence and the traumatic aftermath.
